John McCain was misled .no John ,you were supposed to lead !
Facing a primary challenge ,and taking heat for his decision to support TARP in the fall of 2008,John McCain said that he was misled by Bernanke and Paulson to support the TARP bailout of the zombie banks.
Sen. John McCain: I was misled on bailout

As you recall McCain's behavior during the financial crisis was at best erratic and was the biggest contributor to his eventual defeat .

Further ,in support of the nominee ,many House Republicans voted in favor of the TARP bailout ,when they were inclined to stand up to President Bush and oppose it. 6 weeks before election day, he “suspended” his campaign to rush back to D.C. to take a lead in getting TARP passed.

Sorry Senator ;in your career you were misled too many times (even though you took the lead position on some of the most wrongheaded polices of your time).
You must've been misled when you sponsored campaign financing laws that violated the 1st amendment .You must've been misled when you supported shamnesty .You supported cap and trade ,global warming legislation ,the auto bailout and cash for clunkers . You were part of the gang of 14 .
Thanks for your service to the country . But it's time to go home.

Yes ; however McCain is desperately trying to save his position in the Senate from a primary challenge that is happening primarily because McCain has so often been on the wrong side of the major issues of the day.

I supported him in the Presidential campaign only because I knew he would be a better choice than the current President.. But that wasn't really a difficult bar to hurdle .

During the Republican primaries the only candidates I thought were worse than McCain were the Huckster and Ron Paul.
