    Birth control pills
    Hello,

My name is Sarah, I am 31 years old, I started using birth control pills as of the 11 th of this month, I used to take them( the same brand) few years ago, they are called diane 35, in some contries they are called dianete 35,,

This type of birth control is OTC, and prescribed by many doctors in my country , I read on the internet lately that this particular brand shouldn't be use only for contraciptive reasons, I want to know the following::::

    1. is it safe to take it,
    2. I am experiencing tender breast but only in the left one? I have been diagnosed with benign breast fibroids last year.
    3. can I stop taking the pill in the middle of the cycle?
    4. and how can I shift to another BCP,
    5. for how long can I keep taking BCPs??

    Help
    Sarah

    2. I am experiencing tender breast but only in the left one? I have been diagnosed with benign breast fibroids last year.
That's something you should talk with your doctor about. It could be nothing, but it's always better safe than sorry.

    3. can I stop taking the pill in the middle of the cycle?

Yes, but expect your cycle to be a little irregular while your body readjusts. And make sure you have another birth control method to use if you still don't want to become pregnant.

    4. and how can I shift to another BCP,

When I've switched pills before, I finished off the pack of whatever I was on, including the inactive ones, and started the next kind just as I would have if I'd stayed with the first one. That's what my doctor had told me to do.

    5. for how long can I keep taking BCPs?? Another question best to discuss with your doctor. Your doctors knows your health history and can help you best determine what the best method of birth control is for you.

I'm not sure about your first question, about how safe it is. It's not a brand I'm familiar with. Maybe others will know more about it though.

Sara, questions regarding birth control pills, should be addressed to your doctor. The best source of information for this.
