Les Miserables Redux - Only this time it's not a loaf of bread.
OUTRAGED at that poor woman who was deported to Mexico the other day. Came here 22 years ago as a child. Now the mother of two children, she was caught in 2008 with a phony social security number so she could get a job to feed her family. She reported every year to the authorities but this year (Wednesday) they decided to arrest and deport her.
Under the Obama Administration she was granted leniency.
Under the Trump Administration she is considered a violent criminal.
Donald Trump is a GODDAM SOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The previous president, presented with the same set of circumstances, applied the law like any decent human being would - with justice AND mercy.
Trump, being the narcissistic thug that he is, and that the whole world is coming to know him as, saw only a law-breaker and completely ignored the mother struggling to provide for her family. No Solomon, he.
Jesus wept.

Hello again, tom:
Do I believe that making up a Social Security number so she could work is a CRIME worthy of being thrown out of the country and taken away from her children?
NO!

The number wasn't 'made up' ; she was caught using someone else's Social Security number. She was using a numberregistered to a man in Tucson. She was also using a 3rrd person's Resident Alien Card number . So identity theft, and using forged documents are ok ?
U.S. Air Force veteran Marcos Miranda was arrested for a number of unpaid traffic violations . He paid fines and eventually was able to prove that he had not incurred the traffic violations . But his problems did not end there .He has gotten repeated letters from the IRS demanding thousands of dollars in back taxes for wages paid to someone using his name and Social Security number Miranda watched his once-high credit rating plummet as creditors reported unpaid bills incurred by others.
The man whole stole Miranda's identity did it to feed himself and family also . There are thousands of similar cases every year. People spend a lot of time and money cleaning up the credit history damage caused by illegals using stolen identities . Your sympathies are with the wrong people .

Garcia de Rayos was convicted in 2008 for using a fake Social Security number and was ordered to be sent back to Mexico. She appealed and a court allowed her to stay in the United States as long as she checked in once a year with immigration authorities.
Garcia de Rayos did so for eight years and for eight years immigration officials let her stay in the country. But on Wednesday, that routine changed.
That actually came from a Brietbart article: Mexican woman deported after routine immigration check-in - Breitbart
My point here is that Rayos was caught, convicted and sentenced by a US Court of Law. She has abided by that sentence for 8 years. She has not committed any further crimes. So what ICE did was to overturn a standing court's sentence without due process. This is a shameful episode and is not what America is all about.
Yes I do believe that identity theft is a serious crime and should be punished to the full extent of the law. But I also believe that the law should be applied with mercy and compassion when applicable.

Hello again, tom:
Let's talk about law breakers.. IF there are WORDS written down in a book, and you VIOLATE 'em, are YOU a criminal?? Nahhh... I think spitting on the sidewalk is still a crime in most places.. But, nobody gets arrested for it. So, if we write it down in a book, and NEVER enforce it, IS it really a law??? I say NO.
If you can go 60 in a 55 MPH zone, and you KNOW you won't be ticketed because NOBODY who goes 5 miles over the limit gets tickets, did you break the law??? I say NO.
Let's talk about Tio.. I met Tio round 60 years ago. When he crossed the border, there were no walls or fences. He DIDN'T see a do not cross sign.. He saw a help wanted sign. So, he came into the country and went to work. In those days, nobody minded.. Johnny Carson would even joke about his wet back nanny.. Today, Tio is 70 something years old. He has a big family who are ALL American citizens.. Should we throw Tio out?
I say NO!

Did Tio take advantage of the many opportunities he had to become legal ,including the 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli Act ? Who's identity is he using ?

The emperor deported 2.5 million illegals in his reign and I did not hear one peep about the lack of mercy and compassion .

That's because he had no lack of mercy and compassion and his EO's reflected that even though the right wing and repubs howled like scalded dogs over his policies.
My advice to any one here illegally... GET A LAWYER... and get right with the law!

Thanks Tal for answering the question and beating me to it. Rayos is a perfect example of how mercy and compassion were used. From what I understand the 2.5 million illegals were deported because they represented a danger to American society. Rayos did not and does not.
Again Rayos was caught, tried, convicted and sentenced. Her sentence should have been honored.

This is where all of the liberals can help. They can sponsor one of the illegals if that illegal is not making 25,000 a year income. All they have to do, is sign that if that alien gets any welfare they will pay the government back, Same as I had to do with my wife.

"she was caught in 2008 with a phony social security number so she could get a job to feed her family".
Oh, the tears of anguish I hear dripping in your martini. Lets see, Obama sent how many million back? Not one word of outrage then. Oh, I'm sorry, they must be crocodile tears. Just remember, if you think you are having a bad day, think of Mr. Pelosi.

Paul Pelosi is doing very well making a fortune off of his wife's influence . As an example ;in 2014 he purchased over $200,000 in stock of the financially troubled SunEdision ,a solar power company just weeks before it announced a major acquisition that sent stock prices soaring.
Nancy Pelosi herself had traded stock based on information that was not public ,but known to Congress. She cashed in on Visa’s initial public offering as the company fought a House bill to subject credit card companies to increased regulation. The measure failed to pass. After that Congress passed 'The Pelosi provision ' ;a law that prohibits members of Congress to trade stock on information that isn't public.
She steered $1 billion in federal subsidies to a light rail project that improved the value of the San Francisco headquarters of cloud computing company Salesforce; a company in which Paul Pelosi invested up to $1 million. In April 2014 , Salesforce sold its property for a significant profit due to the increased property value of the land due to the project. The CEO Marc Benioff, a big Dem donor, obviously benefited from the increase in property values that federal funding helped generate. So did Pelosi, through her husband’s large investment in Salesforce.
Together they own a vast real estate empire including a Napa valley vineyard .
Now SunEdision isn't doing so well these days and have hinted bankruptcy is a possibility . Paul Pelosi could get a hair cut . But wait ! Just in time Washington lobbyist groups 'The Podesta Group' (yeah that Podesta ) ,and 38 North Solutions, a green energy focused lobbying firm have been hired to lobby to preserve federal tax credits for renewable energy generation. Nancy Pelosi of course fought for the extension of the subsidies .
