I expect it's justice since goats are well known for the environmental damage they do. In my own nation we are busy arguing about which breed of goat we should have, carbon tax or emissions trading scheme with the odds on nothing happening soon except the Labor government finding an excuse for largess and promises for the masses ahead of the next election. At the rate we are going the average family will be making money out of climate change while the rest of the world does nothing

Well, Ex, of course it can't be solved by politicians. What we need is to call it a war on climate change so they can focus, nothing focuses a politician like the word "war". But we are totally arrogrant to think we can make any real difference anyway, as they say where I come from "the horse has bolted".

Way back before 2001 the politicians were looking at this, but then the war on terror happened and you can only fight one war at a time

Not so Ex I think they can't agree because they know the impact will throw them out of office, purely self preservation. The ones who are inept are the scientists who have manipulated data and lied about results. We can all agree climate change happens just as we can agree s*** happens, both are outside our control. Anything we do short of shutting down our way of life is tinkering at the edges. Developing electric cars doesn't reduce our dependence on energy or emissions of CO2 but it looks like we are doing something. The things that make a difference like nuclear energy are not on the agenda for other reasons. Wind and solar never recover the CO2 required to manufacture the technology in the first place. Hydro generation is good but environmentalists won't allow us to dam any more rivers. So all we can do is export our emissions by buying offshore manufactures and hope they can deal with the problem

It's like I've been saying... Any notion you have about science MUST be tempered with the fact that you DENY the existence of evolution. Consequently, in these matters, you have NO credibility.. You can't pick the science you want to believe.. It doesn't work that way.

Well Ex I don't accept that I must have absolute faith in science and its theories because they have been found to be falliable so often. Evolution is a theory, Ex, a plausible theory, just like AGW is a plausible theory, but absolute truth, that is a horse of a different colour. Therefore I can pick what science I believe and what science I don't and I certainly don't have to believe pseudo-science as exists in computer modelling. By the way Ex I have a degree in computing so that should give me some crediability in the scientific arena. Science has been useful in providing an explanation of some of the laws underpinning the universe, but just because it has been shown to be right some of the time doesn't make it right all of the time.

I have faith in the one person who is infalliable, that doesn't make me a nut, but someone who cannot deny the evidence before me, now somewhere that might be considered science. My crediability lies in my analytical thinking skills, not in someone else's idea of what is crediable

What is causing the mass extinction in the oceans is industrial fishing, but that fact has been overlooked. So we are really talking about mass extinction of humans. Just think; what will the Japanese do without sushi?

Never before has the choice been so clear cut, it is the oceans or us. Gee, I don't know, am I willing to take the cut to preserve the oceans? Yes! I'm prepared not to eat fish. I will not buy the product of industrial fishing, that's my contribution. No more Tuna, how will I cope?
