Is anyone else surprised by the abrupt rise in the Huckabee polling ? The new CNN national poll shows Rudy and McCain slightly down, Romney up and Huckabee way up since last poll.

    Giuliani 24%

    Huckabee 22%

    Romney 16%

    McCain 13%

    Thompson 10%

RCP average is not as dramatic but still an impressivie leap in a short time. RealClearPolitics - Election 2008 - Republican Presidential Nomination

What ? I thought the social conservatives did not matter in this race .

I have a lot of concerns about another Arkansas governor President . I think that now that he is gaining momentum that scrutiny of his governing style will perhaps find him true to his convictions ;but also an advocate of nanny state solutions. Mike Huckabee - - The Washington Times, America's Newspaper

I understand that evangelicals were looking for an alternative to Rudy and Romney . But I think the only existing candidate who could fuse all the factions of the Reagan coalition is Fred Thompson . The nomination is his for the taking... if only he really wanted it. :(

Yesterday it was reported that the Dems would love to face off against the Huckster and that they are holding fire against him . Clearly they think he is the weakest legit candidate in the Republican field. Drudge reported that
Within the DNC, Huckabee is known as the "glass jaw -- and they're just waiting to break it."... "He'll easily be their McGovern, an easy kill," mocked one senior Democrat operative

It's easy to see why.. According to CNN poll he would lose by double digits to any of the Democrats.

For both parties electability is going to trump the base's concerns this year .

In keeping with the electability theme... National Review officially endorsed Mitt Romney for the Republican nominee yesterday .

I'm not sure I agree with their argument but I would have no problem voting for him . I'm not sure I could say the same about Huckabee.

I had a new recessed chrome soap holder installed in my shower. In order to fit in in the wall, the handyman had to cut out a cross pipe that was originally sodered to the riser, but had become unsodered, and was just in the wall, running horizontal to the riser. The old cross pipe was pinched...

Hey, does anyone know if there is a law about payrises. Such as its been 6 years since someone I know had one even though they have been with the same employer for at least 20 years. Any feedback would be gratefully received.

This woman is trying to get a rise out of me [ 8 Answers ]

Ok, we're both new hires, the chick is hot and single. And I'm hot and single. We both know it. I express no interest in her what so ever. She complains to me about her failed relatinoships and how she's given up on men. Im the nicest guy she's ever met (I think that's the problem). I...
