    Hello All:

What x says is true. He's inspiring. Gol darn inspiration. You should never ever elect a leader who inspires you.

But, he isn't Hillary and he isn't McCain. They don't inspire me. I know what they'd do. So, I'm willing to roll the dice with a new guy.

Besides, in the final analysis, there's no training for the job of the most powerful person in the world. The last guy who inspired me, was JFK. He had no training either.

To me, he just is refreshing.

Something inside me tells me I can trust him.

I think because of his "newness" he will be able to unite, as much as humanly possible, across the isles.

Additionally, I think and hope we will regain some of the respect we may have lost around the world, with Barack as President.

I don't think he will become so swallowed up in the political arena that he looses touch with the rest of us.

I think he will be fair and more then likely, what we see is what we will get.

I think he is a canadate very much worth considering.

Oh, and just on a lighter note... man is he photogentic!! I had the hardest time picking which picture to post for his thread. There was so many to choose from.

Positive words. He seems to be able to unite people - look at the last eleven caucauses. Amazing! Still does not mean he gets my vote - am still rooting for McCain but if there were only TWO people to vote for, come November - Hilary or Barack, I'd change my Republican heart and vote for Barack.

He has a way with words so I can take it to mean he will better my life when he means he is going to better someone else's life at my expense, but at least their life will be better.

He has inspired many, many ordinary people to give $25 and $50 and maybe $100 through his web site, so that he has accumulated a huge amount of campaign money from his grassroots supporters.

When I first began noticing him in the Illinois Senate, I thought to myself, this man is going to go places! And Michelle will be a fitting helpmate for him if he become president.

He is inspiring, fresh, and getting a lot of folks to pay attention and VOTE. His record is better than they say, and he has been fairly active so he has substance also, whether you agree with his policies or not. You got to hand it to a guy who is smart enough to raise a bunch of money, without kissing old wrinkled butt.

According to David Keirsey (Please Understand Me II), Obama is an Idealist --

Idealists are introspective and cooperative. Healers, Counselors, Champions and Teachers are the role variants contained within this category. Idealists seek meaning and significance and are concerned with finding their own unique identity. Their greatest strength is diplomatic intelligence. They excel at clarifying, unifying, individualizing, inspiring.

As a Healer -- Healers are introspective, cooperative, informative, and attentive. They are highly compassionate and empathetic to the needs of others. Healers care deeply about a few favorite individuals or causes and they desire to bring about peace and integrity to their companions and to the society at large. They want to heal the problems that trouble individuals and correct the conflicts that divide groups in order to bring health to themselves, their companions and to the society.

Healers tend to be private individuals who have a strong sense of right and wrong and an idealistic worldview. They are deeply committed to things that are positive or good and may be inspired to make extraordinary sacrifices in attempts to achieve their ideals. They are prone to errors of fact as they follow their feelings more than they follow logical analysis. However following their feelings also means that Healers seldom make errors of feeling.

Healers are often misunderstood as children. In practical minded families, their devotion to idealism may be frowned upon and may even be punished. Most other role variants can shrug off the parental expectations that don't fit them, but healers are greatly affected by it. They want to please their parents and their siblings and, in attempt to do this, they may mask or hide their differences. This can create inner turmoil within the Healer. Healers are often better at detecting this inner turmoil than other role variants. Healers seek unity of mind, body and spirit, perhaps because of the inner turmoil caused during their upbringing.

Healers are adaptable, patient with complicated situations, and welcoming of new ideas and information. They are impatient with routine details. As they are aware of people's feelings, Healers relate well with others. They are also comfortable working alone given their private nature. Healers have an interest in scholarly activities and often have exceptional language skills.

As a Counselor -- Counselors are introspective, cooperative, directive, and attentive. Counselors find helping others to personally develop and reach their potential to be personally gratifying as they have a strong desire to contribute to the welfare of others. Counselors often communicate to others in a personalized manner and are positive and kind when dealing with others. Counselors are good listeners and are highly intuitive. They are often able to detect the emotions or intentions of another individual before the individual is aware of them. Counselors are sometimes amazed at their ability to read the emotions of others and this extreme empathetic ability could be the psychological basis for premonitions, mind reading, and other psychic phenomena.

Counselors usually have intricate personalities and rich inner lives. They tend to keep their innermost thoughts and emotional reactions to themselves, which can make them tough to get to know. Counselors tend to be private people, possibly because their ability to take in the emotional experiences of others can cause them to be easily hurt. They have great depth of personality and can understand complex issues and individuals.

Counselors often prefer to work on a one-to-one basis with others or to work intensely with people close to them. Counselors are happy doing jobs that require solitude and close attention. They are also happy working with others provided that the personal interactions are not superficial and they are given some quiet time in order to reenergize themselves. Counselors usually exert their influence behind-the-scenes rather than being a visible leader.

Counselors often work well in organizations. They value staff harmony, are good at consulting and cooperating with others, and they are concerned with the feelings of others. They strive to make an organization run smoothly and pleasantly. Counselors can also act as a barometer of the feelings within an organization.

As a Champion -- Champions are introspective, cooperative, informative, and expressive. Champions have a strong desire to make their thoughts known to the world. When Champions speak or write, they are often hoping to use their convictions to motivate others to participate in advocacy or they hope to reveal a hidden truth about the human experience. Champions are greatly concerned with ethics and justice and have a strong desire to speak about current issues and events. They are the most inspiring and animated of the role variants.

Champions are very individualistic and they feel a need to experience significant social events. Champions consider intense emotional experiences to be vital to life and view the world as a drama. They are constantly seeking to learn about everything that has to do with advancement of good and the retreat of evil in the world.

Champions are keen observers of the people around them. They have exceptional intuitive abilities and are capable of intensely concentrating on a particular individual. Champions are often able to read hidden emotions and to place significance on the actions of others. Champions are constantly scanning their social environment and intriguing characters are not likely to escape their attention. Their attention is usually active rather than passive. Champions are sensitive and alert to what is possible.

Champions are warm, energetic, spontaneous, positive, exuberant and dramatic. Other individuals usually find these personality qualities to be attractive and often want to be in the company of Champions. Champions usually have good people skills and get along well with their colleagues.

As a Teacher -- Teachers are introspective, cooperative, directive, and expressive. Teachers look for the very best and expect the best out of those around them. They are highly capable of helping learners express their inner potential. Teachers communicate to their pupils that each one of them has the potential to succeed and motivate others to meet the Teacher's positive expectations.

Teachers like to have things organized, settled and planned out. They will usually have their work hours and social engagements planned well in advance and can be trusted to honor their commitments. However, Teachers are also capable of using their creativity to invent engaging learning activities for their pupils with little planning. Teachers are more educational leaders than they are social leaders, their primary interest being the growth and development of others.

Teachers have a highly developed intuition. They are highly skilled at understanding what is going on inside themselves and others. Teachers often find themselves mirroring the beliefs, characteristics, and emotions of those they have contact with to generate rapport. This enables them to feel a close connection with others and develop a personal involvement in the joys and problems of others.

Teachers consider people to be their highest priority, and their communication often asserts a personal concern and willingness to help others. Teachers are warm, outgoing, and value harmonious relations and interpersonal communication. Teachers are usually easy to get along with, tolerant of others, and popular. They may also be the most expressive of all the role variants. They have exceptional language skills and don't hesitate to share their feelings, beliefs and ideas. Teachers are very enthusiastic and can be charismatic public speakers. Their exceptional language skills enhance their influence within groups, and they are often asked to assume leadership roles.
