Anyone remember Furbie?
Do you remember those fuzzy little electronic toys that would "learn" and repeat phrases? Lovable little things!
What we are seeing is a "Furbie" electorate, at least a percentage of the electorate.
I refer to "eight years of failed Bush policies" repeated ad nauseum much as a Furbie repeated phrases. Just what were the 8 years about? That's important because it is such an issue in the present election.
Consider this:
6 YEARS OF GEORGE BUSH:
George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!.
But American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and yes--we got 'CHANGE' all right. They put Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid in charge and in the PAST YEAR:
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS and prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~
$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!
YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE... AND WE SURE GOT IT!.
REMEMBER THE PRESIDENT HAS NO CONTROL OVER ANY OF THESE ISSUES, ONLY CONGRESS.
AND WHAT HAS CONGRESS DONE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
NOW THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT CLAIMS HE IS GOING TO REALLYGIVE US CHANGE ALONG WITH A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!
JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND?

Hello Gal:
No it wasn't. It LOOKED fine, just like all those bankrupt people looked like they were doing real good too. But, of course, we know they weren't.
CREDIT is what ruined us. George Bush, our dufus in chief, inherited a surplus, but then he cut taxes and went on a spending spree, the likes of which had NEVER been seen before. He BORROWED trillions of $$$'s. He GREW the size of government MORE than ANY Democrat EVER.
The bill just came in. He's a socialist, and he's BANKRUPTED us!!

Romney said that our problems stem from "too many Republicans acting too much like Democrats." Now, if you trust the polling data we are going to get a taste of Marxist disguised as socialist Democrats .

Hello tom:
I don't know. Just because YOUR Republicans looked you straight in the eye and LIED through their teeth to you, doesn't mean the Democrats are liars too.
I think it's JUST Republicans...

Hello again:
The government announced today that it was changing its emblem from an eagle to a condom. The condom more accurately reflects the current state of affairs.
A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you're being screwed.

I'd have to agree with excon on this one. The economy wasn't good, not even remotely. It LOOKED good; companies were spending wrecklessly, investment banks were giving out money like it was candy. Then when bear fell, everyone thought, "Uh oh..." Then lehman... then wamu... wachovia... then goldman became commercial...
And I'd have to say, you can't blame congress for it; that's why we have the whole system, to balance out the power, etc. I'm pretty damn sure SOMEONE came into bush's office and said, "Um...hey, chief...we're about to head straight down the crapper...watcha think?"

Similar to the tech bubble bursting in 2000.. right ?

The fact is that not a penny in taxes is collected ;nor a penny spent without Congressional approval . The Constitution is clear on that . Yes the President has veto power and Bush deservedly gets a hit for not using it until 2006.
I'm pretty damn sure SOMEONE came into bush's office and said, "Um...hey, chief...we're about to head straight down the crapper...watcha think?"
He also takes a hit for keeping Clintoids like the maestro Alan Greenspan on board. Greenspan covered up much of the problem .President Bush warned Congress about the housing problems in 2003 and reform was blocked by the Democrat minority in the Senate .Sen.McCain introduced legislation that was blocked in 2005 .

Let me see if I can get this on some of your IQ level.
See the big bad bankers. See them making bad loans.
See the Acorn and his friends in the Congress pushing the big bad bankers to make those loans.
See the big bad bankers caving because they have been told by Congress that their assets will be covered.
See big bad Congress, controlled by Democrats since 2006 sitting on their duffs.
See everything go to Hell in a handbasket.
See the Republicans get blamed.
See Obama run!
