Who do you write if someone has been in jail for a year and never went to court yet?he is sitting there on a failure to appear for a charge that is nine years old

My first impression is that there is more to the story.
1. There has to be a first charge that they did not appear for, so what is the real charge they are in jail for, ( the charge they did not appear for)
2. where they found guilty of the crime when they did not show up, and is there a sentence for that also ?
3. Where they sentenced to a number of months for failure to appear when they finally were arrested?

They have or should have not only the failure to appear but the first crime they did not appear for>

Next they may have been denied bail since they did not appear the first time. At least here in GA waiting 12 to 18 months to get a trial is very common. They should have an attorney, since what would be done, assuming they are waiting for a trial, is to file a motion for a speedy trial

It was a marajauna charge trafficking.but he is only charged for failure to appear.has been in jail all this time but never gone to court or been chage with the drug charge.just the failor to appear.there were two of them and the other guy can not be found
