Letter of apology to my employer for court
Hi I worked at a cloth store in the mall and I got caught froe giving my friends clothes. I got charged with theft and now I have to write a letter of apology, my court date is tomorrow and I need help with my written essay, what do you guys think?. this is my letter

Please accept my sincerest apologies for any misconduct that took place. What happened the other day is something I never want to repeat itself. I feel remorse and What I had done was really stupid and selfish of me.It was a big mistake that should never have happened in the first place, I wasn’t really thinking about what I was was doing, the consequences that would follow, I should have made a smarter decision as opposed to my premature judgments. . I am deeply and sincerely sorry, looking back at it, just wasn’t worth it. It wasn’t worth the problem I put myself through, and also the problem my family had to go through.
I hope that you can take this letter as a sign that I have definitely learned from my mistakes, and that I am deeply sorry due to my childish acts, I hope that this letter has given me an opportunity to help show my remorse and to offer my amends as well
    Sincerely

Quite honestly I thimk this letter is almost worse than the act of stealing - "deeply and sincerely sorry, looking back at it, just wasn’t worth it. It wasn’t worth the problem I put myself through, and also the problem my family had to go through."

How about "I'm sorry I stole from you." I'm sure your employer isn't terribly concerned about the problems your family went through. Ridiculous!

This doesn't even address the situation: " I wasn’t really thinking about what I was was doing, the consequences that would follow, I should have made a smarter decision as opposed to my premature judgments"

You sound more concerned about the consequences of getting caught than the morality and legality of stealing.

You sound anything BUT contrite and apologetic.

I assume you pleaded "guilty" or "no contest" and the court hearing is for sentencing, correct?

Did the judge instruct you to write this letter by tomorrow's hearing, or was it your lawyer's idea?

Yes, the letter is OK. Redundancy (There is plenty of it.) is acceptable in such a letter.

Judy's right. Please edit it to show how sorry you are for violating their trust in you, sorry that you made the bad decision to steal from a business that had given you a job and a paycheck.

Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't know a literature critique was desired. If you want that too,. :)

This thread reminds me of the two scenes in "Shawshank Redemption" in which the Morgan Freeman character addresses the parole board. :)

Apparently, Judy and I are being the bad cops while you are being the good cop.

    Great literature? no. Sincerity? Yes.
