    How long do I have to pay off a check written off a closed account
    How long do I have to pay off a check written on a closed account before a warrant is issued?

    Depends on how angry the person you gave the check to is - it's a crime from the time it doesn't clear and the recipient does not have to give you any time at all, can swear out a warrant immediately.

    Just ran into this in NYS and writing a check on a closed account was charged as a felony offense. Don't know about the other States.

    How long does it take the person you gave it, to drive to the police station of the DA office. They can press charges the day they get it back,

    Some people and places will give you a change but not long normaly

    It uusally goes to the bad check dept. at the police dept. they will send you a notice regarding it and say that a warrant will be issued if not paid in 30 days. You can call them and set up a date if the one they give you doesn't work for you sometimes they will give you an extra week or two.
