    Expunge
    3 years ago I was caught shoplifting. I was arrested (but not sent to jail) charged and had to go to court. I did the Direct accountability program and got my charges withdrawn. I know its still on my record. I hate myself for doing that because I've just lost all confidence in myself and haven't been doing anything with my life. I want to go back to school but the school I want to go to needs a background check, and with having this on my record I'm sure I won't get in. I've already set up everything with the school; admissions, osap etc. Is there a way to get my record expunged or removed quickly? I just don't want this to stop me from proceeding with my life. I've been stressing out a lot about this and its made me depressed. I don't have money for a lawyer, so is there a way for me to appeal for it or something?

    Depending on where you live... you might not be able to at all.

    Also... its never really gone... only from the most superficial checks. THe courts will always see it... (thats how they know if you would be a repeat offender or not) and a security clearance will always turn it up.
