    Bonding with a misdemeanor
Hi--Will an employee of a company be able to be bonded with a misdemeanor? The misdemeanor was for shoplifting. The employee says they were accused of concealing merchandise--but had not actually taken anything out of the store and had no intentions of doing so. But their attorney said to just plead guilty, because it would cost a lot to go to a trial and pay for the defense attorney. Does the employee have to report a misdemeanor on the bonding application--or does that only apply to felonies?
    Thank you!

Most likely, people with felonies can get bonded

Also depending on the state, just hiding something is shoplifting in many states, you don't have to leave the store. And there is no way to prove you did not plan on it. In other states you have to be between the cash resister and the door, only a few states make you actually have to be out of the store.

How long it has been from the date of the crime and what the job is for. Will all make a difference as to if they will bond, and how much they will charge for it.

Depends on the question i.e. "Have you ever been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor?" - one would have to answer Yes. Or "Have you ever been convicted of a felony?" = answer would be No. How does the question read ?
