    Theft under 5000 record
I was caught shoplifting in toronto. I was taken to the back room and charged but not arrested. The cops came and said that I will only be charged in the civil court. I am not a canadian and don't live there - I was only there as a tourist. They said that I will be fined. How long will these charges stay with me if I pay the fine? Will I be rejected a visa for canada now?
