My son was arrested for armed trafficking in meth. He had a gun locked up in the house and it was not used in a crime. Can he be charged for armed trafficking?

No other weapons were there. He had 2 pistols that were locked in a safe. The police could not find any connections between the guns and any crimes.

There was meth in the house, there were guns in the house. That's all that matters.

Look at the statistics , the homes and lives that have been torn apart by this poison! The kids whose lives have been ruined! Doesn't matter if he had a gun or not, he committed a Crime!

I agree with you J_9. IS this the first time he has done this? Please don't enable you're son by trying to find a loop hole. Tough Love! It's hard but sometimes it's best.

    Hello goff:

Charged is one thing. Convicted is another. They AREN'T the same thing. People are often times actually convicted of lesser crimes. The circumstances and the quality of his lawyer will determine the outcome.

To you, Kitkat, our rights may be a loophole... That would be until YOU need them, and then they're your RIGHTS. I don't disagree with you about tough love, though, but PRISON is not the place to have it dished out. If you didn't do when it was appropriate, wishing the state would do it now is criminal on your part.

If I ever need them it won't be for Meth or drug distribution. There are young people who are hooked on this poison. Not only have they ruined their lives, but the lives of their families. I'm no saint but I would never, ever do something like that. Let these people who want to make a quick dollar on someone else's misey, get out and get a real job.

I think there is a lot in the Justice System that needs to be changed, but for the drug dealer and pedophiles and child murderers should be thrown in jail. I won't argue with you about this because I do believe people can change and I believe there are people who have been in prison who have made wonderful contributions to our society. So disagree, but this is how I feel. Blessings
