    I have 50,000 in unsecured cc debt for merchandise for a store now closed
    I have no assets. I own nothing and live on my ss income. I am married, but there are no joint assets. I am 71 years old, not healty and can not work.

    You will have to pay it back, there is no other option unless you file for bankruptcy.

    Filing for bk may be your best option, but 50,000 in unsecured cc is crazy,what were you thinking? Anyway just because the store is closed does not mean you do not owe it. If you don't file for bk then you will be sued in court and if the creditor wins then you will have a judgement, Now I know ss can't be garnished and if you don't own anything the worst they could do is hound you all the time. What state are you in? Does your spouse own any property?
