    Credit Reporting Agency/fradulent business practice
Can a suit be filed against a credit reporting agency, such as experian? Credit Bureau was notified in writing with supporting documents regarding a rental contract and fees, response was "checked" only. Contract was for my daughter, I did not co-sign, copy of original sent to bureau. Also, at the signing of that contract I was on staff that day at a hospital 600 miles away. Evidence of this documentation also sent. Daughter disputed but still paid for claim in escrow at time of real estate home closure. This claim is still on my credit after notification in writing of this action. Wrong home address, wrong employment, and credit (medical) claims still on since 1995,1998,1999, and also not mine, but my daughters from the catastrophic illness of her baby, which was taken care of at the time of her death by her church. What can be done?

Wow, a lot of things seem to be going on here. First I am sorry about the death in your family. As to the rest of the post, You can report anyone anytime, whether they are a credit reporting center or not. Companies such as equifax seem to think they can take liberties all the time with the general public. What they should really remember is that they are not above the law and that you as a consumer can launch an investigation against them with the Consumer protection board. You can also sue them civilly. Many people panic as soon as they hear someone on the phone saying they are a collection agency, others panic when they hear that a credit check company has made a negative report about them. Take time to sit back and reflect for a min as to the exact issue that started this and then post back. I will see what I can do to answer you better and in more detail
