Feed dogs opperate completely backwards
I bought and repaired a Singer 242 sewing machine, and so far it's working great except for one thing. The feed dogs are completely opposite of what I think they should be. They are normally pushing the fabric from back to front and when you push the reverse button, they move the fabric from front to back. I am completely clueless as to how to fix this and it's a really annoying quirk.

Hi, All! The title is my question. I'm house and dog-sitting now. There's three dogs. Basically, I disrupt their usual schedule for feeding (as well as sleeping!), when I'm here. They really don't seem to mind the disruption to their feeding schedule.
