Are your By law No. 1 same as Constitution
I operate a small not for profit association. We were legally incorporated in 2001. Since then we have only had by law No. 1 and I have treated it as our Constitution.
    Are they the same?
Do motions that were duly passed at AGM's get added to by laws?
What is the difference between a by law and a constitution and where do motions get added. I wonder if they are by law 2 and 3 , etc.
Is a motion a by law?

    Thanks for your answer.

By Laws are the rules by which your organization operates. Its similar to a constitution, but the general difference is that By laws are used generally with a business entity while a constitution refers usually to a government.

A motion is something presented at the organizational meeting to perform some action that needs to be voted on.

    Hello c:

Buy a copy of Robert Rules of Order and run your meeting accordingly. It'll explain all that stuff about motions and things...

They're the rules Congress operates by..
