    Flaky pastry
How do you make flaky pastry, like the pastry you find on sausage rolls or fray bentos steak and kidney pies.

Just try making it the bero way and it didn't turn out right maybe it the flour here (usa)

    Thanks

Try using phylo or puff pastry. ( you can find it ready made) I make my own puff pastry. Lotts of butter and a lot of work, but well worth it

You can try using filo. I don't know if that is the same thing as phylo but I had a box of it before and that's how it was spelled.

Use crisco or lard instead of butter or margarine and it should end up flakey.

Or you can do like you would to make croisants (sp)
    Roll out dough
    Spread with butter
    Fold in half
    Roll out again
    Spread with butter
    Roll out again
    Repeat
    Repeat
Keep doing that until you get fed up and then next time, go and buy the filo dough.:)
