    Cooking Pizza At Home
I have a home oven that goes up to 525 degrees. Anything over 450 degrees is considered broiling on my oven. What I would like to know is OK I own a fibrament baking stone and I like to make homemade pizza. A lot of recipes say to turn your oven up to 500 degrees. Now if I turn my oven up to 500 degrees even though that says it is for broiling is it safe to do that on my oven to bake a pizza with the door closed? Usually broiling requires door to be open right? Now if I am on bake and turn it up to 500 degrees is this safe or not or can it start a fire? I am lost and need help on this, Let me know asap on what to do

YOu will not start a fire. When you broil the heat source is above the food, when baking the heat source is below. You want to bake pizza not broil. I typically cook pizza at about 425 or 450, with a stone you will still get a nice crust.
