    Is there a limit on height from ceiling on water lines
    Basement water lines running across ceiling. How far can they hang down from ceiling or must they be up attached to rafters

    Where are you located, codes vary. Water lines must be secured to prevent sagging and movement.

    It makes me wonder why you would ask. Why did you? Overhear water lines are secured by pipe straps to rafters for the reason Bob gave you. Good luck, Tom
