    Building regulations
Is there any good websites that lay out clearly the regulations for different situations, (e.g. Building on the boundaries)? Or a place that is available for queries (and free of charge)? (besides an architectural firm).
    Location: Melbourne, Australia.

Try the Melbourne website itself, Planning and Zoning (or whatever they call it, maybe just Zoning). My tiny town in the US has all the regulations on their site.
