I am wanting to replace a telepost with a log or hand cut 8x8.
I have a log home and the basement is supposed to have teleposts that will handle 60,000 lbs load. I would really like to put log supports in their place. How much load can a 18 inch diameter pine log support? The telepost is supposed to handle 60,000lbs. How big does the log need to be and will it meet code requirements in B.C. "
