Adding second floor over vaulted celings on first floor
I have a ranch style home and all the rooms have vaulted ceilings. I would like to add a second story on the house but I'm not sure if that is possilbe with the style ceilings that I have. I don't want to lose the vaulted ceilings on the first floor. Is it possible to put the second floor on without tearing out the celings. Thanks

I'm not a contractor, but it doesn't seem possible. A picture of the room in question would help. Vaulted ceilings on a ranch generally follow the roof line. If you remove the roof, you remove the ceilings too.
