    Add character to front of ranch house
    My '70's vintage ranch house is plain in front. Flat-screen look with no architectural detail to add interest at the front door What can be done within reason to spice it up with an architectural feature. Roof is standard with good eave overhangs.

    There is a house on my daily commute that was a plain ranch. They added a pergola on the front of the house and it looks really nice. They have landscaped the front yard and put climbing plants around it and it came out really well.

    You May Think Of Adding An A Frame Porch To The Front With Some Columns As An Accent. You Could Also Remove The Trim On The Door And Fancy That Up A Bit
