    What type of computer do I buy?
    I am going to buy my first computer but I do not know weather to buy a laptop or home computer. I want a laptop because I can bring it anywhere I go. I want a home computer because it can hold more memory. What type should I buy? I am trying to stay within a 700 dollar range. Should I buy a dell,apple,macbook... etc?

    What is the main activity you will be putting this machine to, as that makes a difference to the specs you'll be looking for.

    A desktop would last a lot longer as it is upgradable.

    What sort of games did you have in mind ?
    The rest is easily covered by any off the shelf machine.

    No problems.
    In that case, pretty much anything on the market would suit.

    Personally I would look for a decent PC package deal. Best to avoid Apple unless you have used them before as they can be quite daunting.
