Transfer music from one PC to another using
Here's my prob. For the life of me I can't figure out how to transfer my music from my old PC to my new one. I recently purchased a chord that directly hooks up the 2 pc's without needing to use my router. They told me what to do but computers are like spanish to me... if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!

An ethernet cable? There should be an ethernet port sumwhere on the computer. It is called an RJ-45 connection. Can you noy find the correct connections?

There is only one port on my PC for it to go... so I got that part down. I get up to the point of doing the files and settings transfer wizard... but it says it can't find my other computer.. is there an easier way to do this? Like using my router

Yes that's fine isn't it? You only want to do it so you can move the files over?

I think your talking about a crossover cable. If you say it looks like an ethernet cable. What does it say on the side of it?

That's fine, when you have set it up you have 2 windows open. One on the computer your on and its music folder. Then on the same computer you open up the other computers music folder and you copy it over.

Let me back up... I bought my new computer from a pawn shop for cheap.. it's a compaq just like my old one but even nicer... I did a total system restore and I can't even get the internet connection through my router... it says its connected in the bottom right corner but when I go on the internet it says there is a connection problem.. so that is why I bought the crossover cable.. do I have to set something up on the new one for the internet to work

Depends on your router. You might have to use a patch cable instead.

No I'm only using the crossover cable directly from PC to PC.. how about the ip address.. do they have to be the same.. or could it be a firewall issue
