    You can't, unless the other laptop is set up on your network.

    Logmein.com is a great connection source, but you can't use it without the other person knowing that you're monitoring the computer.

    Looks to me the OP is worried about file sharing. Just make sure its turned off and then nothing from your machine is visible besides its name.
