    PC Constantly Crashes!
Ok, so I've been at this for awhile now and am pulling my hair out at this.

I recently installed AutoCAD 2010 Trial, and it seemed to have installed perfectly. But now whenever I open iTunes, AutoCAD 2010, CoD4, or some WMP visualizations, my computer beeps, freezes, and I have to restart it.

I originally thought it was a .NET Framework problem since AutoCAD installed 3.5 SP1. So I uninstalled all Frameworks and then reinstalled 3.5 and then uninstalled 3.5 so only 2.0 SP1 and 3.0 SP1 were left. No change.

I then thought it was a DirectX problem since AutoCAD installed a DirectX Runtime. So I installed the latest DirectX 9.0c (Mar09). No change.

But then when I was in Safe Mode, an error came up saying "DRIVER_CORRUPTED_MMPOOL". I Googled this and came up with a Registry Fix. But still, no change.

I then went back into Safe Mode and looked for a System Restore point, but the only point was after I installed AutoCAD 2010. So, no change.

I finally completely uninstalled AutoCAD 2010. But, no change .

I have tried everything I can think of. I looked in the Event Viewer, nothing that affected this. I did some Hard Drive Diagnostics, and all passed. I fixed some of the major problems in the Event Viewer, but still no luck.

So any help is appreciated, thanks.

You've done a great job of trying to track the problem down. Obviously, something failed in a major way when AutoCAD was installed. It may have been due to AutoCAD, itself, or it may have only been precipitated by the installation and have nothing at all to do with AutoCAD.

I think you're going to have to bite the bullet and do a clean install of Windows. That's what I would do if I were in your shoes.

Sounds like Resource management chaos to me. Hope you have data backed up.

I received very accurate responses from PERITO on this problem but cannot answer because it says I don't have enough 'reputation' to do so. What does this mean? I really don't understand this at all. I've been an 'ask me' member for several months. Anyway, it sounds like excellent advice....
