    Hooking an external monitor to a HP Pavilion dv6000
    Once I've hooked the monitor to the laptop, how do I transfer the screen on the laptop to the external monitor.

    On my other laptop, a Dell, I just to Function F8. That doesn't work on this one.

    Right click on desktop -> properties ->settings?

    I wonder if you can have an extended desktop with both screens. Check into your graphics options as they said, and you can choose the output.
