Looking for a Way to Edit DownLoaded Documents
I have downloaded a County (blank) Legal form and I want to make a slight edit on the form.

Is there a way, or a Program, where I can store the document in my files and be able to edit it when I wish,

I like working with PDF files and I do not currently have a version of
    Microsoft Word.

    Appreciate any suggestions and/or comments,

Thanks, HeadRanger George in San Francisco

Omni page pro can scan images that can be editable, the program seems confusing at first but once you know how to do what you need to do, it's simple

A document created by Adobe Acrobat and saved as a PDF file may not be one that you can edit particularly if you are messing around with legal forms.

Generally these documents are meant to be "Read Only Documents" and it would not matter if you were using Word or Acrobat. Locked pages are just that, locked pages.

I believe that it only way to maintain their integrity for use in court. You can do a simple save as title.pdf to your documents directory and than print the document, fill it in and then e-mail or fax the completed form back to the state.

If you want to have a pretty page, you can bring in the document to PhotoShop as a PDF file and add layers over the blanks and then using the text tool, complete the document, save it as a .PDF file and then use PhotoShop to fax the completed document back to the state.

Personally, I do not know of any application that will allow you to overwrite locked sections of the PDF file.

    Hey George,

Humor me if you will please. It's been years since Bonnie and I were fortunate enough to have to go to San Francisco. Is there any way you would consider having a nice Italian meal at a place called "Caesar's"?

I can get close enough to where you might actually find it. While we were there, we stayed at the Hilton to the left of Girodeli Square. If you walk past the Hilton (on you left). Eventually you will also pass a grocery store on your right. Turn right at the corner and in theory Caesar's will just past the corner on your right.

How would you like to take the love of your life for dinner one night. I wish I could say that I'd pay for it, but not this month. At any point during would you be kind enough to raise your glass of wine to Bonnie and me in remembrance of the wonderful time we had while in Sand Francisco.

Nuance has a product (PDF Converter) that will take a PDF file and convert it into a Word doc that can be edited.

    Hold it, please.

If you tamper with the contents of a legal documents, then you are risking criminal charges or civil.

For example, Suppose I get a PDF file in and it is a document of understanding agreeing to allow me to access some intellectuall property under certain terms and conditions.

If I go in and change the Ts & Cs without highlighting the changes to remove restrictions
On me, then I have materially changed the weight of the document.

You just don't do that type of editing simply because you know how. It is irresponsible!

I know, every one is entitled to their on opinion and soapbox. But just for grins who would like to play around with any of Homeland Securities form, just because you can? How long before you get a visit strongly inviting you to never do that again.

Not to mention we are a nation at war. God, help me when I go off in a stupid rage! It must be the meds I'm on now. I apologize for being off the wall!

I had a similar thought to Don's. The form as described is a County form. If this form has a number on it, then you really can't change it, especially not without the county clerk's permission. If the form is provided as a template for convenience, then you may be able to change it. I was assuming it was the latter.
