    Can't delete files
I have a friend who has some large files on his desktop. When he tries to delete them it says "can't delete because file is being used by another person or program" although there are no other programs open. Any ideas anyone??

Reboot the computer and try again. The problem is likely because one or another application or subrountine is running in the background, even if it is not obvious. I have had that happen a number of times.

This has happened to me in the past. What you need to look at is the quicklaunch section on the bottom left of the screen, to the right of the taskbar. You will see some small icons, try right clicking each icon and clicking "exit, disable, sign off, or something like that." Some of the icons that won't have this selection or you shouldn't disable would be the internet connection icon, the volume icon or some other things. After disabling/closing all icons try to delete the file, if that doesn't work iI don't know what to say.

P.S.: If you close your Antivirus program, make sure to open the program again after deleting the file otherwise your at risk.
