    Check your firewall settings.

What type of anit-virus do you use? Your setup may not allow some sites based upon a number of internet criteria.

I have norton anti virus. Don't even know how to check firewall settings or what I would be checking for. I always have been able to get on these sites in the past.

Do you have a firewall installed? This might restrict some websites!

In Norton, there should be a "Task & Settings" tab. Click there and go to Advanced, then Firewall Program Rules, then Access, and from there you can access a small window next to the programs on the list, most importantly your browser, and select Allow. If that doesn't work, try the Norton Help button.

    Good luck!

If its only certain sites, and the same thing happens on multiple computers then the problem is more likely with the site not you.

Try clearing your cache (Delete Temp internet files) and see if that helps.

Has worked for me also: Tools/Internet Options/Delete Temp files/Cookies/History,
I would also delete forms and passwords. Computers are my weak point. Currently have question can't get answered.

I know where to find first part but where is forms and passwords located at. Did you mean "Has worked for me" as the ballpein hammer or the solution? If I didn't have a sense of humor when I'm around computers I would have been dead a long time ago.

On XP it is same place, with cookies, Temporary internet files. Sorry not sure for 98.
Figured all were at the same place. Have you tried network places, right click on connection, and click repair? I didn't get serious into Computers, because there were so many already doing it.
