    E-mail attachment problem
I am having a problem openning my e-mail attachment. Click on attachment and this comes up Windows cannot find Program exe.
This program is needed for openning files of Type " Earthlink Mail Message". I know longer have Eathlink Internet Service. How can I get rid of this? I have Windows 98, It even comes in Inbox Out Look Express provided by Earthlink. I am thanking you.

    Re: E-mail attachment problem
Since nobody, more familiar with Windows and Outlook than me, has answered, maybe I can point you in the right direction. In your configuration, you specify the programs to open attachments. Apparently when you installed Earthlink, it changed them to Earthlink programs. With it gone, you need to change it back to what you have. Outlook works somewhat like Netscape, but the names are different.
Go to your equivalent of Edit/preferences/Navigator/applications. That should give you a list of file types and the programs that open them. Find the type of file you are trying to open. It should have Earthlink exe now, which you must have deleted when you dropped Earthlink. Select it and click on edit. You now need to replace Earthlink with something you have such as Word. To make sure you have it right, look through other lines and see how it is listed. You may also try browse. There may be an option to choose use defaults. That might be best if you have the standard software bundles.

If you can't make this work, maybe somebody can give more specific directions. Personally, I feel attachments are over done, and if you want everybody to be able to read what you are sending, send it as plain text if possible. Besides, plain text never hides a virus. It never hurts to scan any attachment for viruses before opening.

I haven't looked at Outlook recently and never used it regularly. Still you should have a menu bar at the top with File, Edit, and some other items. There may even be one for preferences or configure. If not, pull each one down and look through the listing. You might also try your help functions.

Problem with mail attachment, takes more time.
While attaching a file, its taking more time time to attach a small file, even if our net speed is 1mbps.

First, since this is a new question you should start a new thread, not piggy back on an old one.

Second, What e-mail service and client are you using?

Please post a new question with more info so we can help.
