    Can't fix.
A neighborhood friend asked me to help him out with his computer problem. Turns out it was not just a "problem" but many "problems". I've managed to remove a virus and plenty of adware, even that annoying DSO exploit. After removing these I restarted the computer, ran the latest version of "Ad-aware" and "Spybot - Search & Destory" and came up with a clean system. However her computer is still getting pop up ads. I'm out of ideas, can someone help me fix this?

G'day, you can get some third party software to keep the Pop-ups at bay, but there's not a lot you can do about it. It's the sites you choose to go to. Its how sites make money. Its called advertising...

    Regards~

    Can't fix.
The popup ads you are gettting are likely the result of adware still remaining on the PC. Download Giant AntiSpysweeper at the link below to remove the remaining spy/adware. Spybot is okay but nowhere near as thorough as Giant AntiSpyware.

Note: Most commercial popup stoppers will not stop popups that are caused by adware. The source (adware or trojan) must be removed first.

Please contact me if you have any further problems. I would be glad to assist you.
