If you right click on an exe file, you do not get the choice to "open with"
Does this just happen when you are trying to download a torrent, cause internet explorer is an .exe file, so this would do the same thing as you are saying, what other programs have you tried to open that are an exe that open with adobe

Can you click on start/Control Panel so the control panel opens?

If so then after opening up control panel, double click on Folder Options then click on the file types tab. Click on New button. Type in EXE then click on Advanced button. Wait a few seconds then in the Associated file box there should be a drop down box where you can select Application. Click on OK then Close. Tell me if this works!
