Misprinted dollar bill?
Do the front of the bill and the back have to line up? The bill I have is offset when viewed up to the light. Is this common? Ace

It may be a misprint, if so, depending on how many were misprinted on that run, it could have value.

The fronts and backs of bills don't have to line up with each other as far as the designs being the same size. However, they should fit proportionally evenly with the design on the other side. If you are saying that yours is offset, it would be helpful to know more of what you mean about that. What also, is the year that is printed on the front of the bill? Have you compared the bill to any others that have the same year on them? Thanks!

Hi again, I tried to get a photo attached again but I can't seem to get it figured out. But I did post pictures of the dollar bill on my space at Ace's space If someone could get one posted on this site, I would be deeply grateful. Thanks Ace

Thanks for your answer. I took pictures and put them on my space. See next posting. I can't seem to get the re-sizing thing down yet. My bad. The front and back don't seem to be the same size. Please look at the photos and let me know what you think. Thanks Ace

Have to admit, that looks way more offset than any bill I've ever seen.
While they don't usually line up perfectly, that one is WAY off.
You may have something there, not sure how to determine the value though?

Hello Ace high, I got back home this afternoon , Had a wonderful time ( BOTH OF US) What CLOUGH was talking about was that when Barb and I got married back in 1958 I was in the AIR FORCE: SAC. AND when you got married you were susposed to get a automatic 10 day leave ,Well being in SAC and on the alert force ,I got one day travel time home and one day to get married and one day to get my kesster back in. Our church wedding turned into going before a justice of the peace to get married . Well our kids ( ALL GROWN AND HAVE THEIR OWN FAMILYS ,set up at our church for us to get married all over again by our pastor , friends , family realtives and church members present. with a reception after , then we went to Branson FOR A HONeymoon . IT WAS REALLY GREAT,GREAT <GREAT.

In my 2008 currency book this is what is listedin the section on ( MIS PRINTED AND MISaligned paper money.;; While minor shifts are easly found in circulation,MAJORdisplacements are more RARE & thus more valuable to collectors:: VALUES range from $ 50.00 TO $100.00 over face value ( DEPENDING ON THE GRADE OF THE PAPER MONEY.. ( THE CONDITION OF IT ) I hope this helps ,Good Luck and GOD BLESS::::: F.B.E.
