The main thing you gain from belonging to a church is being in a community of like-minded believers who worship together, spiritually support each other, and give physical aid to each other and the rest of the world.

Is what you believe now that different from your church's teachings?

I guess I question what you mean by "free" Christian,

The early churches were operated by local leaders, many did not do things properly and that was what most of Pauls writings are, instructions for the churches to correct their teachings. This is followed in your faith by addition teachings of the early church fathers and years of tradition within the Church.

Christians were not free to do as they please, and would not foresake the gathering together.

Yes, I hope you were not planning on leaving church altogether. There are many worship styles/settings out there... many denominations to choose from... it's important you belong to a body of believers. One doesn't have to belong to the Roman Catholic Church to go to Heaven... find a place you're comfortable.

Even within the Catholic church, there are so many types and forms of Worship. Not sure about your location, but within 10 miles of my house, there are four so totally different Churches that are all Roman Catholic you would not know they are even related. One does a more Anglican Service, one uses the Latin Mass, another is more modern with drums, guitars and a music leader.

Personally, I believe the Roman Catholic Church teaches the true teachings of Jesus Christ. With which doctrines are you having trouble? Perhaps I can help you find the answer in Scripture or in Catholic teaching.

    Sincerely,

I agree with what everyone else has said. It is Jesus who started the Catholic Church, and handed his authority on to Peter, who became the first Pope. There is no purer form of Christianity, as it is the apostolic succession of the Church which gives it the authority it has to form and modify doctrines and such. If you are having trouble with your community, that is one thing. But the Church is more than just those immediately around you. It is the 1.2 billion (approx) Catholics around the world who are your support. Everyday, each time a mass is said, you are being prayed for by those people. If you are discouraged by your parish, then find a new one! But I wouldn't be so quick to leave... it sounds like Jesus is merely inviting you to delve deeper into the rich history of the Church and of Christ's life. God bless, and I'll be praying for you!

No one can tell you what to do, especially where your beliefs are concerned.

If you're not happy in your current beliefs, then explore others. It's entirely up to you, not us, not anyone.

    Jesse,

I personally believe that that is the only kind of Christian there is.. a FREE one. Jesus set us free when he died on the cross and he bore all of our sins and took the curse. When we believe, we are free. Whom the son sets free is free indeed. k... nuff said

If you are not comfortable with your church and do not feel it is in line with what the Bible says you need to ask the Lord Jesus where to go. I think everyone that calls Jesus Lord needs to do that. I would NEVER stay at a church because I was brought up there. Let the Holy Spirit lead you and guide you. Pray, there is a reason you feel the way you do. :)

Revelation;18;4;and I heard another voice from heaven, saying, come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not her plagues. He was talking about the roman empire and it's church that crcified jesus christ. You know their sins. Come out. bring everybody out you can with you.

Um, Saul persecuted Christians after Jesus had returned to heaven. The Catholic Church was organized much later.

I am sorry you have no knowledge of the following the early Church, the early church had not real name or denomination but those groups latter became what we know today as the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church.
There is no church called Roman Catholic. Within the Catholic Church, there is a Roman Rite, but there are also dozens of other Rites, such as the Anglican Rite , which I follow.

Paul was not even Christian and he converted and repented and risked his own life to do more to spread the Gospel.

In fact it was the Catholic Church that saved and protected the bible for 1500 years. If it was not for them we would not have the bible we have today.

I am not sure where you are getting your very wrong teachings, but I will be as blunt, they are not teaching real Christianity if they attack other Christians. And if they teach the silly things you are saying, they are not even historical
