    Pauline doctrine
    Hi Athos, like your comments. I rely on Jesus, not man. When Paul rightly quoted "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God" He couldn't have been talking about his own letters as scripture, they hadn't been canonized yet. He was talking about the law and the prophets and the writings. If you want to know the truth go to the one who is the truth. Go to God not man.

    What did St. Peter mean when he said about Pauline writings:

    2 Peter 3:15-17
    King James Version (KJV)
    15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

    16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

    17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

    Sounds to me as though St. Peter counts them among the Scriptures.

    Sincerely,

    De Maria

    Peter was referring to letters not scripture. Men including Peter and Paul are subject to error as we all are. That is why Jesus had to tell Peter, "get thee behind me Satan." That is why Peter denied even knowing Jesus when the cock crowed. He is human just like us. If you read something Paul or Peter or any man writes and it agrees with Jesus' teaching than it is of God, if it disagrees it is not. Pray about it.

    The epistles of St. Peter are in Scripture. Therefore, they contain the Word of God which is without error. Pray about that.

    Dear De Maria, I have prayed about this subject for 20 years and was as astounded to find out the truth about this as you are. Did you ever read the story in the old testament about a man named Korah? He started a rebellion against Moses and Aaron that led to him being swallowed up by the earth, not just him but all those who believed him and followed him. See Numbers 16. He wanted to set himself up as the high priest but God did not appoint him. If you're really seeking the truth you will read the 16th chapter of Numbers. Anytime Paul or Peter agreed with the old testament or with Jesus I believe his words, anytime they or anyone does not agree with Jesus I do not believe their words. Paul taught that we are no longer under the law and need not keep it. Jesus said in very clear words we are to keep it. See Matthew 5 if you dare. Some say that the Jews are under the law but that gentiles are not. Jesus said there is only one flock and one shepherd. He also commanded his apostles in the great commission, see the last chapter in Matthew, go and teach all the world whatsoever I have commanded you. He didn't say go and teach just the jews the commandments he taught the apostles but all the world. Paul taught a lie. What better way to keep God's chosen people the Jews from accepting Jesus as their savior then by having christians say we no longer have to keep the law which the jews know is rebellion. It is good to pray about things but we also need to search God's word, not man's word but God's word. Seek Him and His word with all your heart dear sister and don't let man fool you.

    I would also like to point out that the story of Paul being commissioned by Jesus varies and when two testimonies disagree it is not a valid testimony per Jewish standards. In Acts 9:5-7 the men traveling with Saul stood there speechless, they heard the sound but did not see anyone. But the same story told in Acts 22:7-9 states And they that were with me saw indeed the light and were afraid but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me. See the first rendition they heard the sound but didn't see anything but the second rendition they saw the light but didn't hear a voice. It is proof that the story is made up. Now if telling a lie to keep the jews from receiving salvation and causing them to go to hell is not something you want to do, start reading God's word and quit listening to preachers. Anyone who preaches that no law doctrine is sending jews to hell and they might as well be pushing them into the furnaces in the concentration camps. What crafty thing Satan has done but he is being found out. He is the father of lies and the accuser, he comes to steal and destroy. He hates God's people no matter if they are jew or gentile. He hates you. But praise be to God, God loves you... And so do I. Shalom
