He alleged butthead I mentioned in my first question is taking all of this out of control and making it even more difficult. He is still in contact with my friend and her husband. He goes over there almost every night and talks about our situation. I had mentioned in my first question that he had been to rehab and has failed to make even one payment to them and that was over a year ago. He had asked is father to help but his father told me, on more than one occasion, and him that he just couldn't because he didn't have that kind of money. It was $1800.00 that was needed to pay the rehab center. He refused.

My friend just told me this morning that this guy has been talking to his father. His father told him he would do anything to help him take this child away from me. In fact, he says he knows how because he has friends who have done it. Supposedly it takes about $20,000.00 to do this. Why in the hell can he help him take a child away from a loving, fit mother but he can't help him get off drugs?? What do I do?? What are the frist steps that need to be taken here? Do I disappear or go to the SRS? How do I prove that he is NOT a fit father and that he is only trying to hurt me? I am so freaked out and scared. He won't answer any of my phone calls. Up until today I wasn't even sure if we were broke up or what. I spoke to him or saw him in 3 days and it has turned into this. HELP!! Any advice is welcome.

First, do not tell the father when you go into labor and do not put his name on the birth certificate, make him prove paternity. Unless you two are married or his paternity has been established he will have no rights to your child. He can not take your child and he can not even see your child without your permission until he has established legal paternity. You will need to go to a lawyer directly after giving birth. There is no way you will be able to do this without one. Especially if he obtains a lawyer. I would actually seek a lawyers advise prior to delivery. Call explain your situation and they will be able to tell you what will need to happen. Only a lawyer can prove he is unfit and you are fit. Only a lawyer will know what the Court will recognize in getting that done. You can get free consults from a lawyer even over the phone.

I wouldn't recommend disappearing as he can hire a private detective to hunt you down and you will have to cut all contact with your family and friends as he will be able to go through them to get to you.
