My son does not get it!
He just turned 2 years old on July 30th and he pees in the potty very well. He will stop playing with his toys to pee as long as he is naked. Pull ups are worthless until night time and underwear are grimed and soiled within 2 hours. He will not tell me when he has to go when we are at home. (pull-up or undies) It is only when we are out that the will loudly proclaim "mommy, i pee-pee". Meaning that he has to go.) my qestion is how can I get him to use the undies in the intended fashion using the pull-ups for night only? Plese help.

You need to wait and let him tell you when he is ready. Apparently he is not ready to potty train quite yet. This is one of the harder things for toddlers to master. Many boys are not ready until as late as 3 years.

Have you tried rewards? Stickers, sugar free candy?

I have to agree with J9, I had a devil of a time potty training my son until he turned 3 1/2 years old, then he was ready and it didn't take long at all.

    Good luck.

In general it happens when it happens, one may try putting them on the pot at regular times. Beyond that it happens when it happens
