My 3 years old boy still babaling some time
Hi I hope this finds you all moms fine and still sane,
I want a feed back about my son he was delayed in speech and didn't say his first words till he was 30 months now at three and half years I can't complain sine he knows his abcs and can count till 50 and talk sentences, knows all the colors and a lot of vocabulary but my worries are the followings:

He still babbles specially when playing with himself and some times when talking to me is that normal at this age?

Secondly he likes children a lot how ever he is not very successful at dealing with them and he prefers to use the same babbling language with them

Thirdly our conversation don't go back and forth it he is not expressive about his feelings and if it his choice to talk he will talk when he wants something or descriping something to me or answering a question and he still some times forget himself and repeat what I'm saying...

Should I worry about any thing considering that he is very smart and a very good observer and have a very strong memory for every thing... if any one there can talk to me do it as soon as you can because I'm losing my mind here.

    Thanks

Am I correct to guess that you are a first time mom?

LOL, I've had 4. My oldest is 21 and my youngest just turned 6, so I have a little experience here. Firstly have you had his hearing checked? If not, you might want to do so. If you have, and everything is fine, this is just normal for him.

Hun, you have to give him time to learn. His brain is soaking up everything like a sponge right now. Sometimes they think faster than they can talk, this usually results is stuttering or babbling.

Just give him time, 3 year olds can be very hard to understand sometimes, but it all works out in the end.

I would get him evaluated. It couldent hurt and doesn't cost a thing. Besides a sppeach delay it may be a sign of another problem.
