    Legal rights as an aunt
My niece has a 11 month old son who lives with his paternal grandmother. His father died three months ago and the mother my niece is on drugs. The grandmother has taken legal temporary custody of the child. As an aunt do I have any legal rights to this child? Do I have the right to demand visitations for the weekend? Or during the week?

Sorry no you have no rights,

If you believe the grandmother is not the proper person to have the child either, and can prove it in court, you could try and get temp custody, but it is not as likely if SPS has already checked out the grandmother
