    Last name
    I am unsure if I should but my baby's father last name as my child's... he left me when I was a month pg and I haven't seen him since and he wants me to put the child's last name as his and I am scard that if I don't he will take the baby from me . Is there any way he could do that even if we are unmarried... is the a way he could fight me to put his last name in the place of mine

    First, if you haven't seen in in that long how is he telling you to give the baby his name?

    And no, he cannot take the baby from you unless he can prove you are unfit mother.

    Can he like get a judge to make me change the last name... he told me that before he left me in may...

    He can certainly try. But to do that he would have to agree to support and some sort of custody arrangement. You should forestall that by having a court give you full custody.

    NO!! I say you don't hsve to do it. You will regret it in the long run, trust me. My sister went through the same thing and she gave in and gave him his fathers last name. The kid is confused and always asks how come he has a different last name than his brothers. The guy only came around a few times to see him and once my sister asked for child support or some sort of money to buy him stuff he ran like there was no tomorrow. It just wasn't worth it in my eyes. As far as the legality? I doubt he can do anything. He left you while you were pregnant right?? Doesn't sound too promising for him if you go to court.
