Now would this make a difference in our situation. My girlfriend and I had broken up, that's when she conceived, but things did not work out between them. We both talk about it, and gave things another chance. He, the father, thinks this was all planned out. He thinks that she just wanted to get pregnant and come back to me. But that is not the case at all. The first time she told me she was pregnant it was hard for me to accept her back, but then again, I am in love with this woman. I think we are just both scared of losing the child after its born. Another question, if we do go forward and ask for the child support, do we have to be in the same state in order for the father to visit the child? This is stressing us out too much.

As far as child support, that will have to be paid regardless of where the father, mother and child reside. As for visitation, the judge may order the mother to remain local and not relocate in order to make visitation convenient for the father. A lot depends on how much the father fights for and tries to get and who has the craftiest lawyer if lawyers get involved.

    >>>Another question, if we do go forward and ask for the child support<<<
You have nothing to with this child other than taking care of the child if he lives with you. She can only ask for child support. First, she has to establish paternity. She can't ask for anything without that. As far as I know, you don't have to stay in the same state to request child support. I don't know if a judge can stop you from relocating. But, he will make her make it convenient for his visitation.
