    Can they suffer?. sure... do they always suffer?. of course not. Kids can suffer with both parents at home too.

    Too many possible variables involved to make such a definitive statement.

    I think it's garbage too. Both my parents worked when I was young. Eventually my mom couldn't work anymore because she had MS but my grandma watched my brother and me and we turned out just fine. I actually know someone who is at home with her child all the time and her child suffers from separation anxiety when the mother leaves. That's not healthy. Her daughter is now almost 5 and she screams when her mother walks out the door.

    If children have loving ,responsible and dedicated caregivers they will flourish.
