    Boyfriend signing birth certificate
My baby's biological father has not been around for about 7 months now. Not even so much as a phone call which doesn't bother me at all considering he lives 3 hours away and can't manage his money for crap he's financially unstable but anyway my boyfriend has been here for every bit of this pregnancy and even calls himself daddy and is going to be there for the baby's birth which is very soon. What I'm wondering is if I can let my boyfriend sign the birth certificate when the baby is born or if I can get into some kind of trouble for doing so. PLEASE HELP!!

This if fraud and no he can't. This is not allowing or trying not to allow the real father to have all of his rights. You don't have to list a father but you are not suppose to list the wrong one on purpose.

The real father can merely sue for DNA tests, and visitation and you would have to allow it, and he can even go to have a new birth certificate listed.

If your boyfriend wants to marry you, then he can try and adopt the child.

If the reall father doesn't want to sign the certificate then I guess if your boyfriend want to you might let him sign it .BUT if the reall father wants the to sign the certificate you can't just let it go cause he's the reall father and like "fr_chruck" said he can marry you and then try to adopt the child

*hope that helps you a little bit

If you knowingly let him sign the birth certificate when he's not the father, that could get you into trouble. How old are the two of you? If you're both of age then your best bet would be to try and get the dad to let your boyfriend adopt the child. Then he becomes the legal father and you can then legally put his name on the birth certificate.
