Together vs Sepeartion, Divorce vs fighting
All right guys I am currently in my psychology class and I am to write a report on child development and we can pick any subject we like. I decided to do something that is close to home, leterally. My report is going to be on what is better on a child, for parents who hate each to stay together 'for the sake of the child' and always fight, or if it is better for them to just get a divorce.

Here is my issue. I have been looking and looking for the past two days for some sources to use to present the issue and maybe find one that supports my personal belief (being one who has lived her life with separated parents) which is that it is better on the child for their parents to divorce then to watch them fight all the time.

Can anyone recommend me any sites or books that I can turn to that may cover some studies on this subject? Or maybe some sites that explain the effects on children whose parents have divorced and the effects on children who live in homes where their parents constently fight.

PLEASE!! Do not recommend ANY sites that are about nothing except how divorce is wrong and goes against the bible. I am not wanting a bunch of sites that give public or religious opinion, just ones that have been covered scientifically or sites that can be linked back to someone doing actual research. I do not care if the site proves my opinion or not just that it will help me with reasonable evidence on which one is better. If an answer can not be found as to which one is better, just some sites on which will help me with providing reasonable comperison between the two.

Again I say I have been looking myself and am having a hard time it is not like I'm asking for anyone to find my resources for me to make my report easier, I'm just asking for a little assistence since I'm having a hard time finding crediable resources. Thank you.

P.S. if you are a therapist, psychologist, or anything of that nature I really would appriciate your opinion. IF YOU ARE NOT ANY OF THOSE DO NOT POST YOUR OPINION! Thank you again.

    Hi, BiWi!

Nice to "see" you again! You already know me. I'm no expert about what you're asking. However, if you click on the following search, you might find some interesting articles that will be of use to you.

    Hi, BiWi!

As you know, it may take some time for people to notice and respond to your post. Some of us that have stuck together, like you, me and others, and supported each other have or seemed to have taken a break from the site for awhile.

We will just have to see what happens here.

If no one else comes along, I'll be glad to take a more in-depth look at what you're wanting to know.

There are also some others here that don't normally roam around this topic area that I could ask to take a look at your post and respond to it.

How much time do you have to do this assignment, please?

    Thanks!
