Really sore throat , hurts to swollow?
    Hi :)
Okay so my throats been bugging me but I was thinking it was just cause of my allergies because my new allergy medicine has not been working properly. So today my glands are swollen actually I think only the right gland is swollen and it's the only side that really hurts, my whole throat in the back is red and it hurts to swollow and it hurts to talk a bit. There is no sighting of white dots ( strep throat ) so I'm wondering is this just a cause from allergies or could it be the beginning of strep throat?
    p.s , right now I'm drinking camomile tea ( herbal tea ) and it's helping a bit.

Time to visit a doctor. Strep does not always have white dots.

Well I have high school to attend of which I can't miss , two tests , and two projects to hand in . And around here are walk in clinics are packed! And the doctors office's are booked.
I had a bit of tea and its feeling better though? And its like an hour later almost , do you think it could be allergies or just acold because I really can't afford to miss schoool to go wait in a clinic for 6 hours.

    That def sounds like strep.

Without a doctor it won't go away.

So you decide.. have it get worse? Or miss one day of school and get better?

Can't you go after school? Or just leave school early?

It sounds like you def need antiboditics and you won't get them without a doctor. I say you should go.

Can't you talk to your teachers about making up what you miss? I've had to do that before because I was sick. Worry about your health first. What if it gets worse because you don't go to the doctor?

Well both my parents work so their wouldn't be anyone to take me anyway.. and I think it MIGHT be getting better.. cause now it does't hurt AT ALL to swollow , I think the swelling is going down on my glands and its just a bit red still I believe ,
Are you sure it couldn't be allergies ? Or just from the cold with my asthma or something , cause I had strep last year and had the white dots right away.

Well I've had allergies that I didn't do anything about and it turned into a sinus infection once and strep another time.

But could it be a sign of allergies , because last time I had strep both my left and right gland were swollen and red and I had the white puss and it KILLED to swollow and right now the swollowing is perfect and it kind of hurts to talk but only on the right side where my gland is.. I just really can't afford to miss school this week and christmas break is this Friday so I'll be too busy with family stuff and won't have time so I'm hoping it's just allergies or from temp change ohh and I have a dryish cough I guess. Sounds like you enjoy poor health as my late mother would say. Sore throats don't just go away all by themselves. You possibly have a good case of hypochondria.

Thank you so much for all your comments ,
But all the symptoms of my throat have gone away , I guess it was just a cold or allergies.
But thanks again for your concern.
    Everyone take care :)
