Most people need 8 hrs of sleep But most teens need more sleep than 8 hrs.

Recent studies show 8 hours... may be a bit too much for the typical teen. As many parents know, it's vaguely impossible to get your kid into bed at 11pm or midnight and have them wake up at 7 or 8 for school.

When I was 16, I was involved in a lot of things in/outside of school... so I usually went to bed around 4, woke up at 7... I don't recommend that.

I'd say anywhere between 6 - 8 is optimal. Some people sleep less, some people sleep more.

9.45 for a teen of any age. Teens need more sleep as they're growing.
